Little Girl Dead In Sta. Ana, Manila Due To Stray Bullet
MANILA – A little girl was found dead after getting hit by a stray bullet in a conflict that occurred in Sta. Ana, Manila.
According to ABS-CBN News, the little girl was caught in a conflict between a motorcycle rider and barangay officials on Monday afternoon in Barangay 775, Sta. Ana.
The girl was buying barbecue behind two barangay officials when the gunfight occurred. Civilians panicked and ran away from the gunfight, unaware that a child was left behind.
Barangay Kagawad Roberto Cudal, aged 52 years, as well as his three companions were sitting at the front of the barangay.
In a CCTV footage, two motorcycles were seen to be stopping near the officers’ position. One man went down on hes bike and shoot at Cudal. The suspect’s conspirator further rained down bullets before escaping.
As per the report, Binaventura Oxiles, a tanod in Barangay 775 said that the suspects’ might have a grudge against Cudal since he was the one they aimed at.
“[Pinupuruhan] si kagawad. Kasi siya lang tinutukan eh. Kasi katabi ko siya mismo eh. Akala ko may tama rin ako,”
Cudal was shot down and was taken to the hospital while Romeo Nicolas, aged 59, who was near Cudal, was injured.
10 bullet cases were retrieved at the crime scene. Investigations are still ongoing.
