PHOTO: Foreign Tourist Under Fire For Defecating In Intramuros

INTRAMUROS – A foreigner is currently being hunted by authorities and slammed by netizens for defecating at the historical walls of Intramuros.

According to PhilStar, the tourist can be seen defecating in a flowerpot at the Baluarte de Dilao, which is part of the historical walled area of Metro Manila.

Intramuros was built in 1592 and restored after World War II. It was recognised as a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum in 2018.

The was posted by Dos Alvarados in the Historia Manila Facebook page at around 11 AM. The page urged the government to implement stricter monitoring on our national monuments and sites.

As per the report, Manila city mayor Isko Moreno called Manila Police District-Special Mayor’s Reaction Team chief Major Rosalino Ibay Jr. and gave him a directive to locate the said tourist and arrest him.

Ibay said that all efforts are currently being done to find the man as well as to confirm the authenticity of the photograph to make sure it is not a hoax.
