Generous Filipina in Japan Donates 1,000 N95 Masks to Her Kababayans

Generous Filipina in Japan has donated 1,000 pieces of N95 face masks to her kababayan who are affected by Taal Volcano Eruption.

Recently, Heavy ash emitted by the Taal Volcano reached about a kilometer when it exploded at around 2 pm this Sunday, January 12th. As a result, residence near the area is forced to evacuate the area as soon as possible.

The Department of Health has warned of the severe effects of ashfall. Everyone is advised to wear face masks (N95-Mask is recommended to avoid inhaling ashes), goggles and stay indoors.

In our previous article, The prices of face masks in Manila climbed up to P200 due to the eruption of Taal Volcano, Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan says. Lacuna-Pangan revealed that her office received reports that N95 masks were being sold for P200 from the previous P25 to P30 only.

However, some uncharitable people taking advantage on the shortage of face masks on the market. They bought boxes of face masks and sold them at a higher prices than the suggested retail price.

But, despite these inhuman activities, there are still generous people who are willing to help his/her fellow countrymen in need. Instead of selling and earning profit for face mask others donates to those in need and give it for free.

Just like this generous Filipina in Japan, Glendy Cruz has earned praise online for her good deeds and generosity. She has sent over 1,000 pieces of N95 face masks that are badly needed back here in the Philippines. 

This came after Glendy expressed her frustration over reports that some stores are overpricing their stocks of N95 face masks due to its high demand. She lamented online; saying, “Grabe! Ginawa pang business! Hirap na hirap na nga mga tao ginigipit pa! Kung may uuwi lang sa Pinas mag dodonate ako dito eh.”

Glendy’s act of generosity was well-received online by netizens. Netizens express their gratitude to the Filipina in Japan.
