Motorist Crushed By Oil Tanker In Tacloban City, Leyte
TACLOBAN CITY – A motorist was killed on the spot after getting crushed by an oil tanker in Tacloban City, Leyte on January 6 morning.
According to SunStar, the authorities identified the fatality as Joshua Jorda, aged 45 years and married. He is a resident of Second Avenue East Rembo, Makati City.
Reports show that Jorda was riding his his Yamaha Mio sport motorcycle as he was heading to Barangay Apitong in the said city when he lost control of his motorcycle, which resulted to his vehicle crashing onto the road.
The said oil tanker, which was driven by Romark Reposo, aged 23 years, and a resident of the municipality of Samar.
Reposo was travelling on the same direction when he hit Jorda. The oil tanker is owned by Sinotruk, Petrologistic Corporation.
As per the report, Reposo is now under the custody of Tacloban Police Station 2. The police are still investigating the incident.
A similar accident occurred in Pasig City on January 7 where a motorcycle rider died after getting hit and rolled over by a bus.
Witnesses said that the rider suddenly stumbled or tripped and ended up under the bus. The bus driver said that he was driving at 20 kilometers per hour (kph) when he felt that the bus hit something with its rear wheel.
