Sharon Cuneta Pays Tribute To Fan-Turned-Friend
SHARON CUNETA PAYS TRIBUTE – Megastar Sharon Cuneta paid tribute to her fan that she developed a friendship with.
On her Instagram Post today, December 28, Sharon said that she wanted to talk about her friend sooner. However, because it was almost Christmas, she chose not to.
In the post, she mourned the death of her fan-turned-friend, Christina Banluta-Suba. Cuneta described her as a “solid Sharonian” who became her friend.
She recalled that Christina wrote her a letter, and among the hundreds she received, she got to open Christina’s. Just a day after she read her letter, she gave Christina a surprise call.
Cuneta mentioned that Christina refused to believe that it was indeed the Megastar who mas calling her. Christina even thought that it was just her friends’ prank calling her.
The Megastar even mentioned that she had a lot to prove to make Christina believe that she was the real deal. But, the moment she heard Cuneta’s laugh, she finally believed.
Sharon noted that the phone call she made was over 20 years ago. She then recalled that she had been told Christina just came back from Sudan with a fever.
Unfortunately, she ignored her symptoms for about three days and passed out. It turned out, Christina got malaria and was taken away.
Following this, Sharon wrote on her Instagram post:
Thank you, dear Chris, for loving and supporting me no matter where in the world you decided to work. Such dangerous places pa. But that was you. You wanted to touch lots of lives and that will always make me proud to have known you. Another loss. Another Sharonian. My deepest and sincerest condolences to her family.
God bless them and all of you. My heart is tired. But I am sure it cannot compare to the pain my friends’ loved ones feel. May you rest in peace in God’s arms, dear Chris. I love you.
