2 Police Dead, 4 More Injured On Accident In Zamboanga Sibugay
ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – Two policemen were confirmed dead and four more were injured in an accident in town of Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay.
According to GMA News’ Balitambayan, the incident occurred in Purok 3 in Barangay Guilawa, Malangas town.
The fatalities were identified as Police Corporal Jource Jake Celestial and Police Corporal Alexander Laquinon Jr.
While the injured four were identified as Police Corporal Rommel Apiong, Police Patrolman Estephen Rey Alicando, Patrolman Arcel Matugas and Patrolman Logie S. Cerbo.
The policemen in question are all stationed in Malangas Municipal Police Station.
Based on an investigation, the six officers are inside a Navarra Frontier pick-up truck commandeered by Apion as they head to the town of Diplahan.
The vehicle overshoot a curve in the road at Purok 3, Barangay Guilawa and crashed in a mahogany tree. One motorcycle was caught in the incident.
Based on the report, residents then came into the scene and attempted to rescue the casualties. They were all taken to the Wilfredo Palma Memorial Hospital in Diplahan but the aforementioned two was confirmed dead on arrival..
The six officers were ordered to travel to Diplahan to grab materials needed to celebrate the holiday which is set on Wedesday (December 18).
The investigation is still ongoing, as of the moment.
