Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray revealed what she said to Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi while she’s putting the new crown.
A few days ago, the whole universe welcomed a new queen but that did not forget everyone the mark that the Filipino beauty queen left. During a recent interview after she arrived in the country, Catriona was asked about what she said to Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi during the crowning moment.
It can be seen in the video during that event and in photos that the Catriona was saying something to her successor. According to the Filipino beauty queen, she was telling the new queen to be careful of the crown. “I was like please make sure the crown feels secure,” she shared.
The fact that the new Mouawad crown is worth $5 million made Catriona worried that it might fell off the head of the new Miss Universe. The said crown consists of Golden Canary Diamond that weighs 62.83 carats.
She added that she felt nervous because she does not want to be the first person to drop it. “Please, please, just be careful with it,” the Pinay beauty queen told her successor.
Aside from that, she also told Zozibini, “good luck, you’re so deserving”. In addition, Catriona Gray shared that she was one of the judges during the Miss South Africa competition. It was an honor for her to see the journey of the Zozibini from being a contestant until she became the Miss Universe.
Talking about her successor, Catriona said in the interview that the new queen is so humble and very excited but a little anxious also which is quite normal for being the new Miss Universe.
