SEA GAMES – A Pinoy surfer sacrificed his SEA Games 2019 gold to save the life of his Indonesian competitor.

On Tuesday, December 3, the organizers of the Southeast Asian Games announced the events that were postponed due to typhoon Tisoy. Among the games that were canceled were traditional boat races, surfing, and other aquatic events. The sports matches were resumed the following day.

The strong typhoon left trails of devastations in Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region. Crops and other agricultural products were also destroyed.

Even if the typhoon has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the waves are still strong in the coastal areas.

Based on a report from Inquirer, a Pinoy surfer sacrificed his gold medal to save his Indonesian competitor from drowning. This is surely one of the most incredible moments in the history of SEA Games.

According to the report, Roger Casugay gave away his sure-shot gold to rescue his rival Arip Nurhidayat from drowning. This incredible guy will be hailed as a hero in entire Southeast Asia.

The Indonesian athlete was detached from his surfboard during the competition in La Union. The Filipino surfer immediately came to rescue his opponent after he saw him getting hit by huge waves.
