NDRRMC – Tisoy’s Devastation Left 9 Dead, ₱811 Million Damage

NDRRMC – Risk reduction agency NDRRMC recently disclosed that the devastation of Tisoy left with 9 fatalities and ₱811 million worth of damage.

The agency said in their 6 PM report yesterday that 5 people were confirmed dead in Oriental Mindoro, 1 fatality in Marinduque, 1 in Batangas, 1 in Quezon and 1 in Leyte.

According to ABS-CBN News, 19 people received injuries, where most of them are from Oriental Mindoro. The police also confirmed a higher number of people killed, hence, the the death toll rose to 13, with 5 more fatalities in Bicol.

Tisoy also left at about ₱811 million worth of damage to agriculture, according to the agency.

Figures from the agency confirmed that ₱655 million agricultural damage are from the Bicol region.

Meanwhile, in Mimaropa, especially in Oriental Mindoro, they bore the typhoon’s wrath with ₱156 million damage.

As per the report, Tisoy also wreaked havoc in 27 schools and 112 houses.

Currently the strongest storm to hit the nation this year 2019, Tisoy, internationally called Kammuri, also cut power lines in 226 areas; cancelled flights, both domestic (358) and international (203), and sea travel; and left about 3K passengers stranded.
