Man Dives Into Raging Flood To Save Beloved Dog From Being Swept Away
MAN DIVES INTO FLOOD – A brave soul did not hesitate to dive headfirst into a raging flood in order to save his beloved dog.
The incident happened in the district of San Miguelito in Panama. Recently, a heavy rainstorm hit their area and caused the river Sinai to overflow.
This caused raging floods in their area. Footage taken from Unilad showed how Manuel Calderon went straight into the treacherous waters to save his pet dog that got caught in the current.
In the video, you could see the white dog struggling to make its way back to his owner. Manuel was just waiting on the other side, however, his dog got swept away.
The locals said that Calderon crossed the river hoping that his dog would follow him across. But the rapids were too strong for the dog to handle.
The dog yelled for help as it tried to get to his owner. Luckily, Manuel quickly jumped into the deep rapids and caught up with his dog.
Manuel and his partner managed to come upon a nearby bank and footage showed him carrying his pet back to dry land. ” I was focused on the dog. And thank God I managed to grab him… I threw him onto the bank and got out some meters later“, said Manuel.
An animal, just for being an animal, does not deserve to be disregarded, because it is a life after all. I ask you to take care of them because they also have feelings.

According to an article from Unilad, Manuel Calderon was abandoned by his parents growing up. This could be the reason why he was so attached to his dog.
Following this incident, the Mayor of the City, Hector Valdes said that Calderon had joined the department of Animal Welfare.
