Cayetano Apologizes For SEA Games & Addresses Bashers
CAYETANO – PHISCOG Chairman Allan Peter Cayetano addressed the bashers that criticized the preparations for the 2019 SEA Games and apologized for the inconvenience experienced by the athletes.
As the foreign athletes arrived in the Philippines, the PHISCOG seemed to have a logistics crisis on their hands. Athletes were left in the airport for hours while some were driven to the wrong hotels.
Because of these incidents, netizens were quick to share their dismay on the preparations. However, Cayetano explained that a lot of foreign teams arrived earlier than expected.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, Cayetano recalled that during his time as a foreign affairs secretary he was also unable to check-in at the hotels when he got there early. However, he emphasized that this was no excuse.
Adding to this, the PHISCOG chair stated that out of several arrivals, the majority of them had no quarrels about the logistical services. He also said that most of the athletes were satisfied with the services of the organizing committee.
Adding to this, Cayetano stated that the Philippines was ready to give world-class hosting. But, he added that even with that, we are not perfect.
Doon sa 75 arrivals, a great majority, 95 percent ay medyo natutuwa. For $50 a day, ang gaganda ng hotel na titirahan nila

Aside from his apology, the PHISGOC Chair gave his comment regarding the bashing received by the organizing committee.
He said that if the criticism is for them to act correctly or address inefficiency, it’s most welcome. However, if they are just bashing for the sake of bashing, or they don’t want the opposition to get credit, they are just bashing the country.
With regard to the budget, he said that it was Senator Drilon from the start. He also emphasized that their budget was five months late.
