Photos Of Eighth-Grader Using Banana Leaf As Writing Medium Sparks Reaction

BANANA LEAF – A photo where an eighth grader writes all his notes on a banana leaf went viral on social media and sparked netizens’ reaction.

A netizen named Arcilyn Balbin Azarcon Lpt, a teacher from Lianga National Comprehensive High School posted photos of the said child.

During that time, she ordered the students to grab their notebooks to copy what she wrote on the blackboard. As the students copy the writings, Arcilyn roam around and noticed one of her students used a banana leaf instead of a notebook.

Then, the students finished copying and submitted their notebooks to Arcilyn. The student with the leaf notes then asked her to include what he wrote in the leaf for grades. Arcilyn felt happy for her student’s effort.

Arcilyn then urged students to have notebooks to exert an effort to write instead of taking pictures; or do take pictures and write them on the notebook.

According to KAMI, the student was identified as Erlande Monter and the reason why he used the leaf, according to Arcilyn, is because he is from a very poor family and he cannot afford to buy a notebook and they can only spent their money for food.

Erlande has the willingness to learn so much that he made extra effort to write notes, even on leaves.

Based on the report, the student wanted to be a soldier in order to aid his family. This inspired him to learn in school.
