FLOYD MAYWEATHER – Boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. explained the reason why he’s done with the sport.
Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight in 2015 is billed as the ‘Fight of the Century.’ It took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada.
The American professional boxer defeated the Filipino boxer by unanimous decision. Lots of critics and fans disagreed with the result of their fight.
In a previous article, Floyd Mayweather Jr. took to his Instagram to announce his and Pacman’s “exhibition fight” in Japan. Pacquiao was shocked by the news and responded saying he wanted to “make it a real fight.”
The fighting senator and Chinese billionaire Jack Ma uploaded a video on social media challenging Mayweather for a rematch. “Floyd Mayweather, if you want a real fight, fight me… if you want an exhibition, my guy, my friend, Jack Ma will take care of you. The real Manny team,” said Pacquiao.
Recently, Floyd Mayweather gave an update about his life to all the boxing fans in the world and explained why he’s done with boxing. Based on a report from Reuters, the boxer said his career in boxing is finished and he has decided to focus on his business and projects.
According to the report, the 42-year-old athlete said he’s contented with his 50-0 record and he chose to take care of his health despite his and Pacquiao’s rumored rematch. “I’ve got calls to get back into the ring, but my health is my wealth,” he said.
“Boxing is a very, very brutal sport. In the last few years a lot of fighters have died inside that squared circle… You have got to know when to hang it up. I had a great career,” he added.
Surely, boxing is among the most dangerous sports. In fact, lots of professional boxers died, had an eye injury, or traumatic brain injury.
