What Is Cinematography? About The Art Of Moving Picures
CINEMATOGRAPHY – In this topic, we will now know and discuss things and stuff we need to know about cinematography.
As mentioned in the title, it is the art of moving pictures or technically, motion-picture photography. There are two ways of doing this art form: digital or by means of image sensor, or chemically via light-sensitive material.
The term is derived from the two Greek words kìnema (κίνημα) which means movement, and gràphein (γράφειν), which means to write. The people who use this form are called cinematographers.
In the chemical process, they use lens to fixate reflected light from objects into a real image, which is then transferred to an image sensor or light-sensitive material inside a device called a movie camera. The exposures are made sequentially and are preserved for processing and viewing as moving pictures.
On the other hand, in the electronic process, capturing images via electronic image sensor makes an electronic charge for each pixel in the image, which is eventually processed and stored in a file.
It is used in many fields, such as science, business, and even entertainment and mass communication.
