Teddy Locsin contradicts the view of Pia Wurtzabch on having imperfections

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teddy Locsin, Jr. gave shared a piece of his mind regarding the view of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach on “imperfections”.

Pia posted her bare face photo on Instagram and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray posted a “no makeup” photo prior to her. Through this, they are taking part in the #AsSheIs challenge on social media. Catriona’s caption concentrated on self-love and accepting her real identity with all the flaws. Meanwhile, Pia encouraged kindness to one’s self, being comfortable with imperfections, and not consider the face and the body as an ornament but an instrument.

With this, DFA Sec. Teddy Locsin, Jr. expressed his opinion. He retweeted the statement of Pia Wurtzbach with this caption: “That’s easy for her to say, Jesus; yeah, life’s too short when you’re flat out great looking but when your butt ugly the shortest life feels like an eternity of embarrassment painted on your face. Sorry, I lost it there for a while. I see your point.”

This received various reactions from netizens. Some Twitter users agreed to what he said but there were those who defended the Miss Universe 2015. On the other hand, there were those who lambasted the appointed government official for paying attention to this kind of matter but not the issue involving his department.
