Pregnant Teacher Still Continue His Duty Even If She’s Childbirth Date is Near
One teacher shared her life while she was pregnant. A teacher that is willing to take a risk just to teach and meet her children or pupils.
Pregnant teacher shares her story to GMA documentary show “Reel Time” how she faces everyday circumstances in going to school and to teach her pupils even if she is near to give birth to her baby.
According to the documentary, there 12 days more for teacher Jay Ann Salibio before she gave birth to her baby. But she still continued to teach at the Patag Elementary School Annex.
Reel Time stated that Teacher Jay Ann goes through the sea and the cliff just to get to their school. The teacher knew that what she does was too risky especially that she is pregnant.
However, he had to do this because no teacher could replace him. The teacher also didn’t want to leave her students alone.
Teacher Jay Ann said that every morning she would take two to three hours to walk to school.
“Nangangatog na ang tuhod dahil sa sobrang layo ng lakarin po,” she said.
“Bilang buntis po, nahihirapan din ako kasi minsan nga, sumasakit po ‘yung tiyan ko lalo nga po ngayon na panganakin na ‘yung buwan, October 29. Baka manganak po kaagad-agad ako kasi nga kabuwanan ko po,” she added.
Teacher Jay Ann has already submitted maternity leave but Occidental Mindoro’s division office has yet to approve it. Teacher Jay Ann also had to leave the island because there was no hospital where she could give birth.
Her fellow teachers and students wish her safe birth.
