Eli “Amangpintor” Circa is a Pinoy artist that wants to give his audiences a part of himā€“literally. Not only does he paint using blood, he actually uses his own.

Amangpintor had a love for painting from a very young age. Growing up, he often experimented with different forms of art.

However, there is one medium of art that encapsulated a deeper connection for the artist. To Amangpintor, painting with his own blood makes his work more personalized.

In an interview on iJuander, he said that the important thing is to express your emotions on your blood. He added that because it’s his own blood, nobody could still that from him.

According to the interview, when the artist is out of “paint”, he asks his friend who is a doctor to extract blood from him. Afterward, the blood is stored in small vials, reserved in a refrigerator.

Ang layo ng pagkakaiba nila. Kasi sa pintura, anytime, pwede mo siya burahin. Ang dugo hindi. Pagka nailagay mo siya, mahirap nang burahin. So kailangan perfect ang pagkakalagay mo kaagad “, said the artists.

He then mentioned that often times, people are scared of blood because they associate this with death. But, for this artist, he wanted to make a twist to this mindset.

Kaya nagddiresto ako dun sa paggamit niya kasi gusto ko na isipin ng tao ay hindi, death, kundi love and life“, he added. Surely, this form of art brings new life to the blank canvasses it graces.
