39 People Dead Bodies Were Found Inside A Truck Container Outside London.

LONDON — British police have launched a murder investigation after the bodies of 39 people were found in a truck container outside London. Police in southeastern England said 39 people were found dead Wednesday inside a truck container believed to have come from Bulgaria.

The truck, which is said to have entered Britain via the Welsh port of Holyhead on Saturday, was found by ambulance workers at Waterglade Industrial Park, Grays. Authorities believe the truck originated in Northern Ireland.

Based on the article of inquirer.net, Officials across Europe were trying to piece together how and why the people were found dead in the tractor-trailer, which was discovered early Wednesday at an industrial park in Essex, about 15 miles east of London.

British police initially said they believed the truck discovered Wednesday “came from” Bulgaria and entered the U.K. through the Welsh port of Holyhead. Bulgaria’s prime minister said on television that the truck had not been in the country since 2017.

“This is a tragic incident where a large number of people have lost their lives. Our inquiries are ongoing to establish what has happened,” Essex Police Chief Superintendent Andrew Mariner said.

“We are in the process of identifying the victims, however, I anticipate that this could be a lengthy process.”  Although police released little information, the incident echoes several cases of attempted human trafficking that have ended in tragedy across Europe.
