ABUNDANT ELEMENTS – In this topic, we will now know the most abundant elements in the world we live in, the Earth.

ABUNDANT ELEMENTS

As of now, there are 118 discovered and recognized elements in this world. Aside from that, they are categorized into 10 groups.

The question, however, is the abundance or how big these elements are. Here we will now know the following elements which are most abundant.

Elements

  1. Oxygen ( 8O )
    • Of course, the most abundant is the element our body needs, oxygen. This makes up 46.6% of Earth’s mass. This falls under the category of reactive non-metals.
  2. Silicon ( 14Si )
    • A hard and brittle crystalline solid with a blue-grey metallic lustre. It is also a mettalod that is tetravalent and semiconductive and makes up 27.7% of Earth
  3. Aluminum ( 13Al )
    • A silver white metal that is soft, non-magnetic and ductile. This falls under the Post-transition metal category and makes up 8.1%.
  4. Iron ( 26Fe )
    • Part of the first series of transition metals and makes up 5.0%, specifically much of the Earth’s inner and outer core.
