A Student’s Excuse Letter Broke Hears Of Netizen Online
EXCUSE LETTER – Get ready to have your heartstrings pulled by the contents of the excuse letter of this student.
A public school teacher from Cagayan de Oro shared the excuse letter she received from one of her students on Facebook. Netizens couldn’t help but give their sympathies for the student.
According to the excuse letter, the student couldn’t go to class because he didn’t have anything to eat. This was because the student’s father could not drive his pedicab or “sikad”.
Jen Dullente, the teacher that uploaded the picture said that as she read her student’s letter, she was reminded why she became a teacher in the first place.
She wrote:
“As I read my students’ excuse letter, a magnitude of realization slaps me!

That’s why I choose to be a TEACHER.
To lend a hand to students like them and make them perceive that poverty is not a wall to break but an opportunity to climb and see what’s lies behind.”
Her post already had over 9.9K reactions from netizens on Facebook. The photo was also shared over nine thousand times.

Some commented that they also had frequent absences in their classes because they had nothing to eat. A Facebook user named Juan Carlos Borja said that his father was also a pedicab driver.
“Pag walang padyak dahil may sakit si tatay wala kaming makakain“, Borja said. According to him, that gave him the realization that he needed to be persistent with his education.
He stated that even though they had nothing to eat, he still needed to attend classes. “Kahit kumakalam ang sikmura iismayl pa din pretending that ur not hungry”, added Borja.
Borja then noted that right now, he had finished his studies and working. Along with this, he added that he is now living for his dreams and for his family.
