Mother Feeds Her Baby Three Bottles Of Coffee A Day
MOTHER – A mother said they were forced to feed her 1-year-old baby 1.5 litres of coffee a day because they couldn’t afford to buy milk.
Most parents wants to give what’s best for their babies. They sacrificed themselves by going to work every day and overtime just to afford the necessities.
Breast milk is perhaps the most perfect food for babies and is cheaper than formula. Moms have all the nutrients that a newborn needs. It can lower the baby’s risk of having diarrhea, diabetes, asthma, ear infection, and childhood obesity.
Meanwhile, a mother in Indonesia was forced to feed her 1-year-old baby 1.5 liters of coffee per day. Based on a report from Ladbible, the mother said she and her husband can’t afford to buy milk for their baby.
Their baby is now addicted to caffeine. Anita said their baby girl “won’t go to sleep” if she won’t hand her bottle of coffee. She said baby Hadijah drinks about three bottles of coffee a day.
According to the report, the baby from West Sulawesi, Indonesia became hooked to the caffeine drink and now she’s ‘super active.’ Her parents stopped buying her milk after she turned six months old.
The couple gave her the cheap Indonesian coffee “Kopi Tubruk” since they only earn 20,000 Indonesian Rupia per day, the equivalent of P73.62. Anita’s husband Sarifuddin’s job of processing coconuts was not enough for their whole family.
“What else can we do? Our income was not enough to buy milk. We’re forced to give her coffee every day. In fact, she can’t sleep if she hadn’t had coffee. She can throw a tantrum asking for coffee before bed,” she said.
Based on the report, officials have already visited and offered some help to the poor family said the Polman Community Health spokesman. They give the baby milk and biscuits. They also advised the couple not to give coffee to their baby anymore.
