Fans Show Loonie Their Support With #FREELOONIE
LOONIE – Fans of the Fliptop Battle Rapper showed their support after he was arrested for possession of drugs in Makati City.
Filipino rapper Marlon Peroramas or better known as Loonie is considered one of the well-known performers in the battle rap community. In 2013, he released his first album titled “Ultrasound.”
#FREELOONIE went trending on Thursday following the arrest of the famous rapper. He was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Makati City.
According to police reports, police seized 15 sachets of supposedly high-grade marijuana. This was estimated to be worth P105,000.
In a previous article, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) warned the Filipino youth about rappers who are involved in the illegal drug trade.
Other items confiscated included a couple of cellphones and marked money. However, the rapper denies that the items were his.
Loonie also said that all the claims against him are false. In his response to the media, he stated that he was shocked with his arrest.
According to Loonie, they were going to visit a cancer patient. Loonie’s sister even said that she posted on her social media account that they would be visiting a cancer patient named Shaun.
However, when they came into the parking lot, they were mobbed by the police. Based on the video posted by DZMM, the Makati police stood by the results of the operation.
Because of the arrest fans rallied behind their favorite rapper, posting their support on social media. They used the #FREELOONIE questioning the operations of the police and calling for his release.
