Google Project Zero: The Apple iPhone Is Vulnerable To Hacks
GOOGLE – Project Zero, a team of cybersecurity professionals by Google have discovered that the Apple iPhone is vulnerable to hacks.
Project Zero aims to detect, analyze, and examine software issues on major software like Android, Chrome, and yes, even the Apple’s iOS and OS X; Microsoft’s Windows and many more.
According to Manila Bulletin, the team recently published a blog revealing that the iPhone is indeed hackable by simply accesing a website via the browser Safari.
They then said that once the device is compromised, the hacker has access to what is inside it, which includes usernames, passwords, photos, contacts, and more.
Albeit alarming, however, it is not that persistent since you can stop the attack via restarting the device which would wipe out the hacker’s access unless the owner visits the website again.
Apple already addressed the issue through the new patch for the iOS 12.1.4, thus, owners are required to upgrade their phones.
As per the report, Project Zero neither revealed the websites used to infect the device nor they revealed if the Android-powered devices are also targeted.
Upon the release of the blog post, Apple users are more worried if their devices are infected. Websites like Techcrunch and Forbes also reported that Android and Windows are also targets for hacks.
Volexity, a cybersecurity company, also gave more elaborate details on how devices can be hacked, further adding that it is a more serious problem for Android.
What do you think? How will you react to this? Let us know more about it.
