Woman Dies After Being Struck By Lightning at a Cemetery
WOMAN – A woman died after being struck by lightning while exercising with her family at a cemetery.
Last month, a lightning bolt caused the death of a Filipino fisherman in Negros Occidental while his companion suffered burns. After the incident, authorities advised all the fishermen on the area not to venture the waters when the weather is bad.
Lots of people have died or got injured due to lightning strikes since it could strike anytime and anywhere. A person could have a respiratory arrest when their body is struck by lightning.
Based on a report from Fox19, an American woman named Danielle Brosious died due to a lightning strike at Spring Grove Cemetery last Friday, August 30. She was accompanied by her mom and a third woman.
The 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. President and CEO of Spring Grove Cemetery Gary M. Freytag expressed his grief over the tragic incident.
“Spring Grove is deeply saddened by this tragic incident. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families,” said Freytag.
According to the report, the fire department of Cincinnati, Captain Matthew Flagler, said three people were hit by a lightning bolt at the said cemetery around 5 in the afternoon on Friday. The victims were rushed to the hospital after the incident. Two of them were in serious condition.
Danielle Brosious and her family were under the large oak tree. It says that they were exercising on in Spring Grove Cemetery. We should stay away from metal sheds and tall trees during a lightning storm.
