According to ABS-CBN, the internet giant has a feature called Word Lens, which has the capacity to instantly translate by simply pointing the cameras at menu boards, street signs and text.

The company recently added the Cebuano language into the roster of languages inside Word Lens at the end of Buwan ng Wika (August).

The company further added that it is beneficial for tourists in order to communicate with the locals more effectively and know more of the culture of the Queen of the South. The company further noted that the users who are already familiar with the language can still use the tool to study other languages as well.

As per the report, the internet giant also added 4 Filipino writing languages for its GBoard, their android keyboard. These languages are: Buhid, Hanunuo, Tagbanwa, and Baybayin.

The keyboard also supports the following:

  • Tagalog
  • Central Bikol
  • Koronadal Blaan
  • Rinconada Bikol
