Isko Moreno To Implement Curfew To Minors, 20 Minors Rescued
ISKO MORENO – Manila City mayor Isko Moreno aims to implement a curfew for minors as result of the rescued 20 minors via a surprise probe.
Previously, Mayor Moreno disallowed the issuance of special permits to Divisoria vendors in this holiday season. This is still in lieu of their operation to clean the streets of Divisoria for pedestrians and motorists.
Moreno further clarified that vendors will still earn more even without the special permits. He clarified that the government has good intention in clearing the streets since the issue prompts drivers to cut trips because of unpassable roads that are occupied by vendors.
Recently, the Manila mayor is disappointed as minor-aged adolescents roam the streets during the night. They were reportedly caught using solvent and drinking alcoholic beverages.
A report from ABS-CBN said that about 20 teenagers were rescued in a surprise inspection conducted by the mayor himself.
Jekki Pascual of the ABS-CBN News Channel made posts on Twitter and Instagram about the surprise probe.
Thus, Moreno announced that there will be a strict implementation of the Ordinance regarding the curfew starting Monday. Moreno will further arrange a meeting with the police to discuss the said curfew for the minors.
As per the report, Moreno urged the parents of the minor-aged teenagers to tend and keep watch of their children.
