MMDA Announces No Number Coding This January 12 (Monday)

MMDA – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently announced that there will be no number coding scheme on August 12.

The number coding scheme or known as the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) was made in order to reduce traffic congestion in Metro Manila. This is also imposed in Baguio, Cabanatuan, Cavite, Dagupan.

The agency recently posted on Twitter about the lifting of the number coding scheme. Thus, vehicles with plates ending in 1 and 2 are allowed in Metro Manila streets.

A report in Inquirer also stated that President Rodrigo Duterte also declared the same date as a nationwide holiday observing the Muslim’s Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.
