MMDA Spokesperson accused reporter Doris Bigornia of “pananakit”

ABS-CBN reporter Doris Bigornia was accused of “pananakit’ by Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Assistant Secretary and Spokesperson Celine Pialago.

Reportedly the MMDA official filed a complaint to the office ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Division Head Ging Reyes. According to the report from PEP, the incident happened when the two women met at a fire drill in Makati City Hall.

It was said that Pialago accidentally bumped Bigornia but the latter allegedly “struck” the former. Aside from this, the MMDA Spokesperson that she received “panlalait” from the veteran reporter.

Based on the report, it can to the knowledge of Pialago that the reporter was saying defamatory statements against her. Allegedly, Bigornia was telling people that the MMDA Spokesperson has a fake nose, body, and personality.

Regarding this issue, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia talked to the two women and tried to reconcile them during a meeting last August 6, 2019. However, according to the report, Doris Bigornia said that she will not reconcile with an “unethical person”.

This incident prompted Pialago to file a formal complaint to the company that is handling the reporter. She sent a letter to the head of News & Current Affairs Division of the Kapamilya network. The MMDA Spokesperson was pushed to do this also because she does not know the root of Bigornia’s anger to her.

Ging Reyes assured that they will investigate this matter as the complaint from Pialago bothered them. It is also because of their principle of not tolerating that kind of action from their employee if the complaint has a basis, based on the report.
