Driver Who Got Gambling Addiction Pawns His Boss’ Car
DRIVER – The TNVS driver who got gambling addiction pawned his employer’s car to a student.
Lots of people from around the world have gambling addictions. Some of them got rich while some destroyed their lives and ruin relationships.
Surely, this can bring fun and thrill to many, but for some people, excessive gambling may cost everything.
Gamblers got this uncontrollable urge to keep on spending their money despite the tool that takes their normal life.
The problem arises when the person starts to get the addiction and couldn’t bring back the money they gamble in casinos.
Based on a report from GMA News, a driver who got addicted to gambling decided to pawned his employer’s car to a student who’s living near the casino to get out of debt.
A Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) driver named Jonas Lagasca took his boss car was arrested in Kawit, Cavite on Monday, August 5.
According to the report, the driver pawned the car worth of P27,000 to the student after working for the family for 1 year. The authorities confirmed that he got gambling addictions.
“These past few days ‘di siya nag-baboundary. Kung mag-boundary man, kulang. Until yesterday may nag-text sakin na pumunta sa presinto kwatro (Manila Police District 4) kasi nakakulong na yung driver,” said the driver’s employer.
The driver’s relatives are the ones who surrendered him to the police as he has been stealing from them too. He also tried to sell one of the wheels to the cop for P1000.
Based on the report, the student didn’t get back the P27,000 he paid to the driver.
“Ine-establish ng anti-carnapping(unit) kung papasok sa carnapping o qualified theft,” said the chief of Calabash Police Community Precinct Police Major Roldan Leceta.
