According to GMA News, the next-generation Pixel is scheduled to debut this October, the same time Apple release their new iPhone as they strive to win in the competitive smartphone market.

The features that the company teased were advertised as representing a “next step” in the company’s view for a future where computing power can be accessible anywhere and anytime people want without thinking about it.

The key technology is said to revolve around “Soli”, its motion-sensing radar, in which Pixel 4 is the first smartphone to have this feature which can allow you to skip songs, snooze alarms, and silence phone calls by simply waving your hand, as narrated by Pixel product manager Brandon Barbello.

As per the report, the company said this is simply the beginning, further implying that both Soli and Pixel will improve as time goes by.

Barbell further said that Soli will also have facial recognition sensors when the phone is picked up in order to allow themselves to unlock for their owners, the images that will be used for the feature will never be shared with other devices.

Google, as well as its other rivals like Apple usually launch new models ahead the year-end holiday shopping season. Samsung is scheduled to reveal the new Note handset in early August.
