Isko Moreno Urges LTFRB For Suspension Of Baclaran-Divisoria Jeepney Drivers
ISKO MORENO – Manila City mayor Isko Moreno recently urged the LTFRB to initiate suspension to jeepney drivers travelling the Baclaran-Divisoria route.
In the previous report about him, he congratulated the victory of boxer and senator Manny Pacquiao. Moreno pointed out the perseverance and the talent of the Filipino boxing champion.
He lastly said that Manny’s skill and talent that built his fame in the boxing world will never falter.
Recently, Moreno encouraged the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to suspend the Baclaran-Divisoria jeepney drivers.
According to a report from GMA, specifically “Dobol A sa Dobol B”, the reason Moreno noted is the number of complaints that says the said jeepney drives are cutting trips or not completing the full route.
The Manila City mayor also met with LTFRB, along with the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic or i-ACT on Tuesday morning to file the request.
Moreno warned that he will suggest the suspension of the jeepney drivers for cutting routes that cover the following due to the similar complaints:
- Manila Central University,
- Padre Faura,
- Taft,
- Pedro Gil, and
- Paco
As per the report, Moreno pointed out that the reason drivers cut their trips is because only a few passengers complete the said routes. Another reason is that the drivers tell the passengers to change to other jeepneys in order to reduce gasoline cost and consumption.
The LTFRB has yet to confirm regarding this issue.
