Designer Mak Tumang, known for his creation for Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray received bashing for designing Senator Imee Marcos‘ gown for SONA 2019.
Filipinos have known the name of the said designer as he created masterpieces for Catriona when she joined the international beauty pageant.
Together, they created not just stunning gowns but with historical ang cultural value. Mak was the designer behind the famous lava gown of Catriona which she wore during the pageant night in Thailand.
He continued to design clothes for Catriona as she is reinging now as the Miss Universe.
With this reputation, the fashion designer earned the respect of many Filipinos. However, he received bashing for the gown that he created for newly-elected Senator Imee Marcos.
During the State of the Nation address of President Rodrigo Duterte, the female politician showcased the creation of Mak Tumang. It was a gold gown accent color red on the edge.
Several netizens expressed dismay upon knowing that the designer made a gown for the politician.
