Houston Rockets Just Traded Chris Paul For Russel Westbrook
NBA – The Houston Rockets recently made a huge decision trading Chris Paul for Oklahoma City Thunders’ Russell Westbrook.
The recent NBA finals was one of the most hyped victories in NBA history. The intense match between the Golden States Warriors and Toronto Raptors ended up with the Rockets gloriously winning.
That was the first NBA Championship of the Toronto Raptors in 25 years.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets just made one of the biggest decision for their team trading Chris Paul for the two-time NBA Finals MVP (2016 and 2017) Russell Westbrook.
ESPN’s NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski also posted the announcement on his Twitter. His post read:
“Oklahoma City GM Sam Presti worked with Westbrook and his agent, Thad Foucher, to deliver the former MVP to his preferred destination: A reunion with James Harden, per sources.”
The move by Houston Rockets almost came out of nowhere. This is such a huge news during the offseason.
The Rockets was a bit discreet in their approach for this trade, following their vocal statements regarding their prior plans of pursuing Jimmy Butler.
The actions played off well for the team, however, since they got the player Daryl Morey really wanted.
Houston Rockets was also a good destination for Russell Westbrook since he just lost his teammate Paul George to Los Angeles Clippers.
Currently, the team has a new star player to add to the team with James Harden. The trade allowed the two good friends to reunite.
In exchange, however, Chris Paul had to be let go. Chris Paul contributed a lot for the team with in two seasons.
