With the rapid tech advancements going on recently, almost every kid have access to cellphones, the internet, and thousands of apps. Mischievous apps that pose dangerous challenges for kids users have been going trending lately.

Many concerned netizens and parents have raised warnings about the dangerous apps.

If you can recall, the Momo challenge have circulated social media platforms, news and media outlets earlier this year after reports revealed that the app urges children to harm themselves.

Days after its viral streak, the challenge was eventually debunked as a non-existent challenge on social media and was found to be a hoax.

Before the viral Momo Challenge, there was also one social media phenomenon called the “Blue Whale” or the “Blue Whale Challenge” that also allegedly posed dangerous claims.

The character in the Momo challenge is now ready to be on the big screen. This was after the reports that Orion Pictures will be collaborating with Vertigo Entertainment and Taka Ichise – producer – to work on a horror film about the creepy sculpture circulated the internet.

The sculpture, now known popularly as Momo from the Viral Challenge, will be featured in the film.

Originally, the sculpture was the work of Keisuke Aiso, a Japanese artist as a part of a gallery exhibit in 2016 in Tokyo. The piece was actually called ‘Mother Bird’.

The movie version by Orion might extend the story line over the contemporary digital age.

This is according to an article from Deadline.

The sculpture by the Japanese artist also had its roots in the Japanese-origin legend called ‘Ubume’ – a bird from the Japanese folklore that catches children and are venomous.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
