These Migrant Children Drew Pictures Seeing People In Cages
MIGRANT CHILDREN – Pictures drawn by migrant children under US Customs and Border Protection custody shared by pediatricians looks disturbing.
There has been some controversial reports about US border patrols and immigrants lately. Under the states’ immigration laws, immigrants are meant to go under certain processes before getting into the country.
In a separate report, the US Immigration office in the Philippines have scheduled permanently closure in July.
On the other hand, migrant children who were separated temporarily from their parents when under US Customs and Border Protection’s custody, drew images that seemed disturbing.
Pediatricians shared the drawings of pictures made by the migrant children that depicts what looks like people in cages. The drawing shows sad people kept behind bars.
Children between the ages of 10 and 11 made this drawings last week. This was when they were at Catholic Charities Humanitarian Respite Center in Texas.
They were transferred there after being released from the CBP. There, they were asked by the staff to depict their time under CBP custody by drawing.
Then a social worker forwarded the drawing to the American Academy of Pediatrics, which then sent them to the CNN network.
Dr. Colleen Kraft – past president of the AAP, explained the possible meanings of this drawings, saying:
“The fact that the drawings are so realistic and horrific gives us a view into what these children have experienced. When a child draws this, it’s telling us that child felt like he or she was in jail.”
This is according to an article from CNN.
The group of pediatricians also made attempts to advise CBP about how to properly care for the children that are under their custody.
That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
