Cabinet Official And Trade Chief Says Philippines A Possible Major Player In Artificial Intelligence Jobs
PHILIPPINES – The Philippines can be a potential major player in making use of artificial intelligence, says Cabinet official and Trade secretary Ramon Lopez.
According to an article in ABS-CBN News, the Cabinet official and also Trade and Industry secretary Ramon Lopez said that there are roughly 75,000 graduates in STEM or the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics field out of the 700,00 graduates in Seniot High School.
To make the Philippines a “center of excellence” for AI and at the same time, to attract foreign companies that fueled the business process outsourcing or BPO industry is as Lopez said, part of Manila’s plan
As per the report, Lopez noted that their advantage is the human capital and that all they have to do is to scale up the capabilities, human capital development and skills development in order for them to prepare how to manage AI as part of the industry.
