Las Piñas Pedicab Driver, 40, Arrested For Impregnating Grade 5 Student
PEDICAB DRIVER – A 40-year-old pedicab driver impregnated a 10-year-old girl in Las Piñas.
We can’t deny that there are people who have no qualms of doing crimes to their fellowmen even to the ones they are close to.
That’s the reason why people became very strict with their kids and already teach them to be wise, observant and alert when someone tried to take advantage with them.
But in the Philippine, parent trusted their friends or neighbors so much that they even let their child be with them for several hours.
Wrongdoers have a lot of chance to abuse other people’s children so we have to be careful about who to trust.
Recently, a pedicab driver was arrested for abusing a 10-year-old child who he sent to school every day.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the 40-year-old pedicab driver who also works as a Barangay Tanod was arrested in Las Piñas for impregnating the grade 5 student.
The victim was the suspect’s neighbor and he’s the one who takes and fetches her from school.
According to the report, the victim’s mother noticed that her daughter hasn’t got her menstrual period for two months so she brought her to a ’manghihilot.’
The mother discovered that her young daughter was pregnant. The girl then disclosed to her mother that the pedicab driver was exploiting her. The suspect was arrested on Friday.
The chief of Las Piñas police, Col. Simnar Gran, said the driver frequently threats and warn the girl not to tell her parents.
Based on the report, the pedicab driver claimed that the girl enjoyed what he’s doing to her every time they were left in the victim’s house.
He denied that he was under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs while he’s mistreating the girl. He also said he regretted all the thing he did to her and apologized to the parents.
The driver clearly violated the Child Abuse Law and will certainly stay several years in prison.
