PHILIPPINE REGIONS- In this topic, we will discuss the following 17 Philippine regions that were formed inside the archipelago.

PHILIPPINE REGIONS

The Philippines is divided into three major groups: Luzon, Visasyas, and Mindanao. Each group are divided into different regions: 8 in Luzon; 3 in Visayas, and 5 in Mindanao.

Here are the following regions and their respective capital cities:

Luzon

  • Region XIV – National Capital Region | Capital: Manila
  • Region I – Ilocos Region | Capital: San Fernando, La Union
  • Region XV – Cordillera Administrative Region | Capital: Baguio
  • Region II – Cagayan Valley | Capital: Tuguegarao
  • Region III – Central Luzon | Capital: San Fernando, Pampanga
  • Region IV-A – Calabarzon | Capital: Calamba
  • Region XVII – Mimaropa | Capital: Calapan

Visayas

  • Region VI – Western Visayas | Capital: Iloilo

Mindanao

  • Region IX – Zamboanga Peninsula | Capital: Pagadian
