Twitter, alongside Facebook and Instagram is one of the most popular social media networking platforms. The site and app also keeps you updated with current events with the ‘trending hashtag’ feature.

Most social media sites alert and notify their users for important events such as: birthdays, working status updates, social life, and other aspects.

Although, it’s primary purpose is sharing there are some information that the app and its developers chose not to display for the users to see

Like when someone cease connection with you online and they unfriend or unfollow your accounts.

Giant social media platforms have decided to not put that feature into the app to avoid the pain that comes with unfollowing.

However, due to a bug recently, Twitter users received notifications whenever someone unfollowed them. This is according to Vice.

Twitter users reported receiving notifications on their phone every time people unfollows them on Twitter and got rid of their posts.

The notifications, according to the users reports, did not specifically cite the awkward notice. It only wrote that ‘someone followed them back’ when they were really unfollowed. It went on for some time until people noticed it.

Only some people were affected by the bug and some never really experience it. It means, when you have unfollowed someone this week, they may not have noticed it.

This is according to an article from Mental Floss.

If you’re curious, however, you may use a third party app to find out whether someone unfriended/unfollowed you on social media.

Fast Company then announced that Twitter has already resolved the issue recently. So users can now continue with the site.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
