US and Russia have been involved in some conflicts in the past. Previous report shows Russian government threatening to target US if it launches missiles to Europe.

The two powerful nations’ Navies recently accused each other of “dangerous and unprofessional behavior” after the near miss that happened among their ships in the Philippine Sea last Friday.

A report from a Russian news agency states that the Russian Pacific Fleet claimed that United State’s USS Chancellorsville – a cruiser carrying a guided-missile – went closer than the safer distance, sailing within only 50 meters (165 feet) from the Russian destroyer Admiral Vinogradov, forcing the Russian ship to move immediately to prevent collision.

Russian Pacific Fleet also disclosed relevant information in their statement saying that the near miss happened early on Friday morning in the waters eastern region of East China Sea. The incident took place as Russian warships was cruising on a parallel pathway with the US Naval Strike Group.

They explained the incident in their statement:

“The US guided-missile cruiser Chancellorsville suddenly changed course and cut across the path of the destroyer Admiral Vinogradov coming within 50 meters of the ship.”

They also added that:

“A protest over the international radio frequency was made to the commanders of the American ship who were warned about the unacceptable nature of such actions.”

The US Navy, on the other hand, refutes the claims of the Russian Fleet. They said the Russian ship ha behaviors that are “unsafe and unprofessional.”

This is according to an article from MSN News.

US Seventh Fleet spokesman Commander Clayton Doss said. Commander Clayton Doss – spokesman of the US Seventh Fleet said that a Russian destroyer carried on to an unsafe maneuver against USS Chancellorsville while they were operating in the Philippine Sea.

He also dabbed the Russina fleet’s statements that the US Ship moved dangerously as a “propaganda”. Also saying that the Russian destroyer drove near them within 50-100 feet from the Chancellorsville putting possible harm for the crew and the ship.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
