Jaclyn Jose is not afraid to contradict the director’s instructions
Veteran actress Jaclyn Jose shared that she is not afraid to contradict the acting instructions from a director.
Jaclyn is one of the most well-loved actresses in various drama series. She can play the role of a protagonist smoothly while she can also show fierceness when she is an antagonist.
Over the years, she was able to work with different directors on TV and movies. Jaclyn also had several opportunities to work with stars from different generations.
She is known for her “no-acting” style. The veteran actress has this attack when it comes to acting. Her movement is minimal which is tagged as “hindi OA (over acting) or natural”.
Jaclyn shared in an article published in Bandera that she prefers this kind of acting style.
“Siguro I really wanted it that way, para mas tagos. Kasi kung malikot at magalaw…gusto ko malalim siya,” the veteran actress shared.
She said that she really contradicts the director when she is being told to change her approach.
“I will object, kasi I will do it as I feel like I wanted to do it. I’ve seen a lot. I watch TV, I watch news,” Jaclyn Jose said.
Meanwhile, the actress also shared her experience when she received her Cannes Film Festival 2016 Best Actress Award in France for Brillante Mendoza’s Ma Rosa.
“It was nerve-wracking, and overwhelming and joy, pinaka masaya kong araw, na hindi ka na halos makapag-salita sa sobrang saya, kasama mo pa ang anak mo,” she shared.
Jaclyn Jose said that she never expected to win the said award, based on the article.
“Pumasok ako doon nang ang alam ko hindi ako mananalo, dahil puro idols ko lahat ng nandoon. Ito yung mga iniiyakan ko sa bahay na mga pelikula. Tapos, biglang ako?” she said.
