Midterm elections is one most important annually conducted processes and is participated by millions of registered voters nationwide. And because of that, it is very difficult to manage all the waste of thousands of voters in every area.

Meanwhile, in Biñan, Laguna, the streets looked like there was a recent festival after thousands of sample ballots and flyers were left scattered on the street.

Photos of the mess was posted by the Inquirer on Facebook that triggered various reactions from the netizens.

SEE? ELECTION CAN NEVER BE CLEAN IN THE PHILIPPINES (EVEN LITERALLY) AND POLITICIANS CAN NEVER BE REAL HUMANS WITH BRAIN AND HEART. (THAT’S REALLY TRUE) REAL POLITICIANS WITH CLEAN INTENTION FOR THE COMMUNITY CAN EVEN BE REAL WITH THEIR SERVICE THROUGH SMALL GESTURES. SIMPLY DISTRIBUTING LEAFLETS CAN’T EVEN BE DISCIPLINED SO AS TO THE VOTERS.” – Facebook user Jeff Jpp Rnd

Walang disiplina ang mga lecheng mga tao na yan. mga bwisit. wala asenso pinas sa mga gunggong na pilipino! [These people just aren’t disciplined. There won’t be progress in the Philippines for these ignorant Filipinos!” – Facebook user Joseph Quartz

Tapos mag rereklamo bakit ang dumi ng pinas, at bakit di umaasenso… Ehh disiplina nga di matutunan. [And they complain why Philippines is dirty, and why the country doesn’t progress. Can’t even learn to be disciplined.]”

In this massive nationwide election event, voters should be responsible of their own trash to avoid these problems in the next polls.

Leaving our trash just scattered on the street only does it tarnish our image as disciplined people, it also will affect our connection with the environment in the long run.

When checking for voting guidelines during the election, remember to add some notes in waste management.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
