Xiaomi Phone Survived Being Dropped From The Outer Space And Took Photos Of The Earth

XIAOMI PHONE – Redmi Note 7 of Xiaomi Corporation was sent off to the outer space to take pictures of the Earth and returned fully functional.

Xiaomi Corporation – a Chinese electronics company headquartered in Beijing – proved the ‘out of this world’ quality of their product by literally sending it out of this world.

The Remi Note 7 unit was attached to a weather balloon to fly at least 31,000 meters or 102,800 feet off the ground. Reaching the maximum altitude, the phone took pictures of the planet with its 48 megapixel rear dual camera.

A third party app was installed to take pictures in specific time interval of 10 minutes.

The flight took 1 hour and 27 minutes to reach maximum altitude.

The ambitious attempt turned out great with the impressive stats:
Soaring at the maximum altitude of 35,375 meters off the land and surviving a critically low temperature of -58 degrees Celsius.

It also survived the atmospheric pressure of 1 kPa.

This is according to an article from Giz Guide.

After Xiaomi’s space mission, the weather balloon eventually popped and unit started falling at a fast descending rate of 36 minutes.

The phone landed 300meters off the predicted landing area. Despite the phone being unmodified, it survived the fall with very minimum to no damage at all!

According to Xiaomi’s official website, the Redmi Note 7 was not in any way modified to reinforce its casing.

This goes to show that Xiaomi products are truly durable and high-quality. They proved their assumptions right. The unit’s durability really is ‘out of this world’.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
