Siopao Rice Hooked Netizens’ Attention
SIOPAO RICE – Netizens can’t help but express their reaction on the latest version of siopao, the Siopao Rice.
Cantonese steamed bun ‘Cha Siu Bao’ or better known as siopao is one of the favorite snacks in the Philippines.
This popular snack is mostly sold in restaurants, fast foods, or even on the sidewalk.
Siopao comes with different varieties like ‘asado’ or ‘bola-bola’. It is a combination of beef, chicken, pork, salted duck egg and shrimp.
This snack is similar to a Thai cuisine called ‘salapao.’ It is also a favorite snack of Hawaiian people, they called it ‘Manapua.’
There is an urban legend that says cat meat was allegedly used in the production of Siopao.
Historians said that the story could have been a smear campaign or some issued against the Chinese Filipino community.
In a previous article, a netizen shared a photo of the siopao he purchased a famous fast food. He found a disgusting worm inside the snack.
Meanwhile, a new version of Siopao went viral on social media. The post flooded with mixed reactions from the online people.
It can be seen on the photo that instead of meat like pork, chicken, or beef that’s inside the snack, the manufacturer put cooked rice in it. It’s carbs on carbs!
