Rescue Operation Continues At Chuzon Supermarket After Luzon Earthquake
LUZON EARTHQUAKE – Search and rescue team continued their operation at collapsed Chuzon Supermarket after Luzon earthquake.
The 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Luzon last April 22 destroyed several establishments including Clark International Airport, some malls, and the Chuzon Supermarket.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) confirmed the deaths of 5 people on the four-story supermarket.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) suspended all the business permits of Chuzon Supermarket.
Several people have been trapped and injured due to the powerful Luzon earthquake.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the rescue team continued their search for another survivor at Chuzon Supermarket in Porac, Pampanga.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año said there’s one person left missing after the collapse.
According to the report, the search and rescue team will continue the operation because they have been receiving signs that there are still people trapped in the collapsed building.
“The rest naman ay na-rescue, more or less, 138 lahat ‘yun nandito sa loob ng supermarket pero meron pang missing dito na confirmed one.”
“Pero ang sabi ng ating mga rescuer, dalawa ‘yung naririnig nila na (mayroong) sign of life,” he added.
Based on the report, the rescue team is acting as fast as they can after they heard some voices from the ground. A trapped survivor even managed to text his/her family.
The second district of Pampanga is currently under a state of calamity after the strong earthquake.
We can all hope that the search and rescue team will be able to find more survivors.
