Former Governor ER Ejercito Faces 6-8 years Imprisonment

ER EJERCITO GUILTY – The actor and former governor of Laguna has been charged with graft and found guilty.

After a thorough investigation, Fourth Division of the court Sandiganbayan declared ER Ejercito guilty of graft following his suspicious insurance plan projects when he was still in position.

The dispersion of anomalous insurance plans were carried out during his term as Mayor. He was also disqualified for overspending back in May 2013.

September of 2013, the former governor was also disqualified by The national poll body, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) First Division. This was announced by the COMELEC back in September 23 of that year.

ER Ejercito was the governor of Laguna. Following this, he was also Mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna back in 2001-2010.

The court of Sandiganbayan declared the decision last Friday, April 5 2019. Necessary actions will be taken to resolve the insurance scam issue.

ER Ejercito is now faced to 6 to 8 years imprisonment for the cases filed against him. According to PEP, the former governor and actor was also disqualified from running for any authoritative position.

The cases against ER were filed after the Municipality of Pagsanjan tried to avail of his health insurance plans for tourists and boatmen.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) from First Rapid Care Ventures (FRCV) were forged and certainly, the insurance for financial assistance were void.

ER Ejercito provided cash bonds for his temporary freedom. This is according to an article from PEP.

The decision of the court can still be lifted. ER Ejercito can still appeal to justify the case. Currently, the former governor is running for the same position.
