EXPLOSION – 2 person ‘killed’ after an explosion at a factory in Sto. Tomas Batangas.

Blasting caps are used to detonate explosive devices like dynamite, TNT, or plastic explosives. This tiny primary explosive device comes in various types including electric caps, fuse caps, and non-electric caps.

Explosive devices could potentially injure or ‘kill’ anyone. It is mostly used by the authorities and the terrorists.

On March 18, in Barangay San Roque, Sto. Tomas, Batangas, two persons were confirmed dead after the explosion in that residential area.

Based on a report from Sunstar, Batangas Provincial Police Office Director Edwin Quilates stated that the two victims of the explosion were a couple.

Police officer Edwin Quilates said the destroyed building was used as an illegal factory for creating improvised blasting caps.

According to the report, San Roque Police Chief Superintendent Harol Depositar said that there was also a child that was affected by the explosion.

Depositar stated the child was immediately brought to the hospital after he was seen injured by the explosion on the residential area.

A Facebook user named Noel Rubio shared a video clip of the remains of the explosion at Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

It can be seen that there are lots of clothes and ashes scattered everywhere, trees and grasses were burnt. Aside from that, the nearby houses were also affected.
