Netizen shared the current condition of Tumalog Falls in Cebu

Netizen Michelle Moreno from Bulacan shared the current condition of Tumalog Falls in Oslob, southern part of Cebu, that caught her attention.

The tourist attraction was famous for its curtain-like falls and below the cascading water was the bluish water that seemed to be inviting tourists to take a plunge.

However, this is not the same scenario that Moreno saw when she went there. She shared the current condition of the falls on her Facebook account.

Her post has this caption:

Chasing Waterfalls

Due to a lot of resorts being built and higher number of people now living at Brgy. Luka, Oslob, Southern Cebu, the water consumption went up as well. As a solution they took water from the same source of water going to Tumalog Waterfalls and now there’s no more curtain of water going down to it, only trickels… It’s sad this has to happen and nature has to suffer. Its beauty diminishing along with time.

According to a report from Cebu Daily News, Moreno aims to call the attention of the local government officials of Oslob, as well as the resident, to save the Tumalog Falls.

Apparently, this problem in one of Cebu’s tourist attractions already happened several years ago.

A blog entry on the site of Lakwatsero dated August 1, 2016, already discussed the devastating condition of the falls.

In the blog, the difference between the past and current conditions of Tumalog Falls was shown and it is indeed heartbreaking to see.

No more curtain-like falls and the blue water is no longer there.

What can you say about this?
