The complainant added that there was a point that the man said to her, “beh sana aso mo na lang ako“. Based on the written statement of the woman, the man also said to her, “Beh akin na lang cellphone number mo”, “Ate ano cellphone number mo?”

When the complainant confronted the Cabases, he denied that he is doing “pambabastos” to her. He reasoned out that he was talking to someone on the phone.

Aside from this, the woman said that the man laughed at her. According to the man, he has no idea that that kind of doing is prohibited in Quezon City under the Anti-catcalling Ordinance.

Based on the ordinance, green jokes intended to humiliate anyone, sex jokes, and innuendo or repeatedly asking for a woman’s cellphone number can be considered as sexual harassment.

Cabases was arrested because of his act towards the complainant.

Sr. Insp. Nicanor Bautista of QCPD Station 4, said that Cabases admitted his wrongdoing and asked apology. However, the woman really felt humiliated and so she pursued the legal complaint.

Cabases was able to pay for his bail but when the news team tried to reach out to him to get his side of the story, he was not there at the address he gave.

It is the second that a man was jailed due to the Anti-catcalling Ordinance in Quezon City.
