Reason Why Pacquiao-Mayweather Rematch Will Not Happen Exposed
PACQUIAO-MAYWEATHER REMATCH – The reason why the rematch of Filipino boxing champ Senator Manny Pacquiao and American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. will not happen was exposed.
Yesterday, January 20, 2019 in Philippine time, boxer-turned-senator Manny Pacquiao once again set on the ring and made the Filipinos proud. He was in a defense match against American boxer Adrien Broner.
Pacquiao defended his WBA Welterweight World Title against the American boxer in a match held at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Pacquiao successfully won against Broner with a unanimous decision.
Among the boxing personalities who came to watch the Pacquiao-Broner fight is American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. who was seated in a premium ringside seat.
Undeniably, one of the most-awaited match in the international boxing field is the Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch. Many are anticipating that after Broner, they will see each other again on the ring.
Pacquiao and Mayweather previously had a match dubbed as the Fight of the Century in May 2015. It was also held in MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The American boxer won the fight.
Many are surely asking now when would be the Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch. However, it will not happen and the CEO of the American boxer’s promotional firm recently exposed the reason.
Based on a report in Manila Bulletin, Leonard Ellerbe expressed that Mayweather will not go on a rematch against Pacquiao as “he’s retired”.
According to the promotional firm CEO, the 42-year-old American boxer is not interested in a rematch against Pacman and he is “living his best life” now.
“It’s not always about the money. What can the man do? He didn’t have the motivation and desire,” Ellerbe expressed.
Based on the report, Pacman is a bit disappointed that the Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch will not happen.
According to Ellerbe, Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia are excellent alternatives for a match against Pacquiao. On his part, the Pinoy boxer expressed that he would still ask his promoter about his next fights.
